Chat on the chain. Sealed end to end.

Trai Messenger is built into the Tenrai Wallet. Write, talk, react and play with any Tenrai address, sealed with post-quantum encryption.

ML-KEM-512

Post-quantum handshake

Every chat opens with ML-KEM-512, NIST security category 1, standardized in FIPS 203.

0

Chat servers

There is no messenger server: the Tenrai network itself carries every message, fully decentralized.

60 s

Voice messages

A minute of speech fits in about 18 KB of Codec 2.

1 phrase

For all your chats

Your recovery phrase brings every chat back, on a phone or a computer.

How a chat starts

  1. 1

    Start a chat

Enter an address, scan its QR code or pick a contact from your address book, and write a first message.

  2. 2

    They accept

Your chat lands under Requests on the other side. When they accept, both wallets share the chat keys.

  3. 3

    Chat privately

From then on every message is sealed end to end with XChaCha20-Poly1305. Only the two wallets can read it.

You Your contact Request your messenger key and a first message, readable by everyone Accept a key capsule only you can open; both wallets now share the chat keys Messages end-to-end encrypted, both ways Each message pays one atom plus the fee.
A request, an accept, then sealed messages in both directions.

Everything a chat needs

Voice messages

Record right in the chat and listen before you send. Your contact plays it as soon as every part is in, and you choose the sound quality in the settings.

Long messages

Write long texts in one go. The wallet sends them in parts on its own, and your contact reads one message, whatever order the parts arrive in.

Answer and quote

Answer a specific message, and both of you see it quoted above your answer. A tap on the quote shows where it stands. On a phone, swipe a message to the right to answer it.

Reactions and emoji

React with 👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🙏, and both of you see it under the message; tap it again to take it back. The emoji picker sits right next to the text field.

Forward

Pass a text or a voice message on to another chat. It arrives marked as forwarded, and the name of whoever wrote it stays with you.

Play Traiball

Challenge a contact to Traiball, a turn-based physics game played right in the chat. Every move is a sealed message, there is no time limit, and the game follows you to every device.

Your chats live on the chain

Every message is a small payment that carries its words in the payload, so the chain itself keeps the chat and there is nothing to back up. Use as many addresses as you like: give each contact a different one, and every chat still lands in the same wallet, whichever of your addresses it reaches.

THE CHAIN messages as tiny payments Request Accept Message Message Message Recovery phrase your 24 words Messenger key the same on every device Any device every chat restored reads
One recovery phrase gives every device the same messenger key.

Private where it matters

Sealed texts

Nodes, explorers and the API carry only sealed bytes, never your words.

No impersonation

A wallet accepts a message only from the side that sent it, so nobody can write in someone else's name.

Open by design

The first message of a chat travels in the open and carries your key. Who writes to whom, when, and how long a message is stay visible on the chain too.

You stay in control

Requests first

Anyone can write to any address, but a request costs its sender a fee, and nothing more reaches you until you accept.

Block and delete

Block an address or delete a chat in one step. Both act on your device only.

Your Messenger ID

One ID for your wallet on every device, such as TRM-4CA0-35E2-6A78-1786-FDC8-D8CA-0D7B-F39F. It is derived one way from your recovery phrase and reveals nothing about it.

Password if you like

Messages go out without your password by default. One setting asks for it before every message.
